Today, as I celebrate my son's first birthday, I am consumed by the current state of world affairs. Can someone please explain something to me? Several years ago, there was this obnoxious ruler in a middle eastern country that would not allow UN inspectors to confirm or deny proof of WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction), including biological or nuclear. So our bully of a president, Mr. Failure, Er I mean Mr. George W. in his infinite wisdom, decided that since US is the world police (Who died and made us God?), we would go into this little country and wipe out everything moving (Yes, I am speaking of Iraq).

So Mr. Bush unofficially made himself big bad ass bully, dont mess with Bush, he'll stomp you out!

Now this past week, North Korea, has tested at least 2 nuclear weapons, shortly after testing their long range missles in July, missles that can reach US Mainland!

Hello?!?!

Why the hell are we not doing anything about this? I hear more on the news stations about Mark Foley and his "Alledged" misconduct, why the hell arent we rushing to kick some North Korea butt? Or at least begin some troop movements towards that area. I dont know about you, but I'd be much more concerned with a madman with nuclear warheads, than disconnected cells of terrorist groups.

Wake up America, wake up and make your voice be heard, now is the time! If we fail to act, we will doom the future of our beloved children.

BadMark, good points. We're going to have to agree to disagree on a few points about Iraq but I'm right with you about North Korea. You know it is a serious deal when China is even upset with NK.

NK is on the same track as Russia was - quickly going bankrupt, trying to bully the rest of world, and believing that Communism works. Just because it looks good on paper doesn't mean it can work.

At any rate, I 100% agree that many Americans need to wake up and look at the bigger picture. Yes, losing our soldiers overseas sucks but there are causes worth dying for.

I haven't blogged in ages but check out: http://jfmcclure.blogspot.com/ and read my blog about Soldiering.

Make up your mind. Either it is ok for the U.S. to be "world police" or it is not.

I agree that something needs to be done about N. Korea, but I have a hard time with people that are only interested in getting involved in bad situations when it affects them directly. Congratulations - you sound like every other mindless person in this country.

I tend to be against military action as a whole. We own nukes, who are we to say others can't? I was against Iraq, and id be equally against moving troops to north korea. However, I do admit that if you are going to justify bush's actions in anyway you must conclude north korea is the bigger target.

I'm not sure that we should worry about North Korea attacking so much as distributing nuclear weapons. And of the two major threats out there, I'd pick Iran as the one to worry about. Iran has allies, whereas North Korea's kind of alienated itself (even from China, its traditional ally).
And anyway, given the U.S. track record in Iraq, I wouldn't be hopeful entering into an altercation with either of them.
